Quakes’ playoff chances surge after successful weekend
While Saturday’s match against the Houston Dynamo wasn’t exactly a ‘must-win’ mathematically for the San Jose Earthquakes, it was a crucial game for the club both in the standings and for the team’s morale heading into the final stretch.
Forward Danny Hoesen delivered the game’s lone goal in the 33rd minute and helped propel the team to a 1-0 victory and up three (!) spots in the standings to fifth. The Quakes moved to 4-0-1 at home under head coach Chris Leitch in the process.
