On Saturday, Nov. 18, Quakes Girls’ Academy midfielder Sophie Jones and the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team defeated Mexico 4-0 in Mexico City.
The second of two friendlies against the United States’ rival to the south, the two teams had drew 1-1 two days prior. Jones started and played 65 minutes in the victory.
The two matches served as excellent preparation for both teams ahead of the 2018 CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship. That tournament, to be held in Nicaragua next spring, will qualify three teams for the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay.
