Last Wednesday, December 6, the Earthquakes announced the Homegrown Player signing of goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski. Marcinkowski, who competed for both the Quakes Academy and PDL-affiliate Burlingame Dragons FC, also suited up for the United States U-20s and Georgetown University.

After the signing, Georgetown issued a press release announcing Marcinkowski would forego his senior season and included a quote from head coach Brian Wiese:

“I'm extremely proud of JT and he deserves this opportunity. He is as ready to tackle the challenges of being a professional athlete as any player I've worked with,” said Wiese. “JT has been our starting goalkeeper for the past three seasons, and we will miss his steadying presence in back.
