On the evening of Thursday, Sept. 6, the San Jose Earthquakes’ Avaya Stadium will host a college soccer match between the University of California and Sacramento State.
Cal will be bringing numerous ties to the Earthquakes when they step on the field Thursday. Among them is head coach Kevin Grimes, who was selected by the San Jose Clash during the Inaugural Player Draft in 1996. He has served as the Golden Bears’ head coach since 2000 and has been named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year five times.
