Earthquakes Sign 2016 SuperDraft Pick Kip Colvey

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has signed 2016 third-round SuperDraft selection Kip Colvey. He joins 2016 first-round pick goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell (No. 8 overall) on San Jose’s roster.

“Kip is very versatile, capable of playing on the left or right side,” said Earthquakes general manager John Doyle. “He possesses good technical skill and we’re looking forward to what he can do.”

Colvey, 21, was a four-year starter for the Mustangs. He appeared in 74 matches (72 starts), tallying four goals and nine assists.

“He had a very good preseason and played well against all different levels of competition we faced,” said Earthquakes head coach Dominic Kinnear.
