Sandy, Utah -- The black-and-blue road uniforms have been apropos of the Earthquakes' struggles away from home this season -- the look of a team repeatedly battered and bruised on the road.
Those road struggles continued Friday night as the Quakes squandered an early lead and settled for a 1-1 tie against host Real Salt Lake.The Quakes couldn't make Chris Wondolowski's ninth-minute goal stand up, and instead remained winless away from home in 10 trips this season (0-5-5).Their last road victory came Aug. 23, 2015 -- a 2-0 win at D.C. United. The Quakes also failed to win consecutive games for the first time since opening the season with back-to-back victories in March.
