Day 12 of our advent calendar brings us to a familiar piece of equipment to anyone living on the West Coast, a seismograph.
The seismograph is significant to the San Jose Earthquakes obviously because of their name. The Earthquakes are part of a select group of teams named after natural disasters, teams like the Colorado Avalanche, Miami Hurricanes, and New York Mets. Even in MLS itself, you have the Chicago Fire, but none of those teams can claim to have a working instrument that detects the event in their home stadium.
