MLS announced Thursday Nashville SC is the second team to depart the MLS is Back Tournament having not played a game, with a coronavirus outbreak significant enough that nine players of that team have tested positive inside the bubble in Orlando. They join FC Dallas to be left out of the competition as a result of coronavirus outbreaks.
That leaves the field with 24 teams, and MLS announced an adjustment to two groups, including the San Jose Earthquakes’. With Nashville, in Group A, dropping out, there were five teams in Group A and three in Group B, the Quakes’ group.
