The Quakes U-14 and U-12 Boys' Academy programs have completed their runs in the 2019 Nexen Manchester City Cup in Oceanside, Calif. The U-14s finished group play with a 1-1-1 record, highlighted by a 2-0 win over Manchester City and a 1-1 draw in a match where the Quakes initially trailed Strikers FC. The U-14s were placed in the Silver-Playoff Bracket following a second-place finish in Group A. The Quakes would go on to pick up 1-0 victories against Liga MX's Chivas and cross-town rivals De Anza Force in the Silver-Bracket quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.
Following their 1-0 win over De Anza in the Silver-Bracket semifinals, the U-14s were set to face New York City FC in the finals but their results in the Silver-Bracket Playoffs landed them a showcase match against Championship-Bracket quarterfinalists FC Golden State instead.
