SAN FRANCISCO — Is this the end of the Panda’s second act?
Less than 48 hours until Opening Day, the appearance of Pablo Sandoval on the 25-man roster remained an open question.
Sandoval was in the starting lineup, batting ninth as a designated hitter, as the Giants hosted the Athletics in the final game of the Bay Bridge Series Tuesday night at Oracle Park.
Only Giants manager Bruce Bochy and general manager Farhan Zaidi know for sure whether his presence was a goodbye gesture on behalf of the fan base or if Sandoval could still stick as a backup for Evan Longoria at third base and Brandon Belt at first.
