Carlos Rodón pitched another good game, allowing only three hits in six innings, but a bout of wildness in the 2nd inning put the team in a hole and that was that. Rodón walked two lefties--Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger--and with two outs and an 0-2 count to Chris Taylor he uncorked a very wild pitch that moved up both runners. Rodón had trouble corralling his slider early in the game and Taylor, now sitting on the fastball, smacked a single up the middle to score both runs. The Giants had some solid contact against Julio Urías but could not sustain a rally.
