SF Giants pitcher Hayden Birdsong has been somewhat forgotten after he was demoted to Triple-A due to his intense struggles. He was passed over for another shot in the rotation by Carson Whisenhunt and it is pretty clear why.
In five starts with the Sacramento River Cats since he was demoted, Birdsong has just not looked right at all. He has a 5.59 ERA in 19 and 1/3 innings pitched. In that span he has struck out 22 batters and walked 12 and has a WHIP of 1.76 while giving up five home runs.
