There’s a month of the season left to play, and the Giants find themselves seven games back of the Wild Card. There isn’t a Giant gunning for the Cy Young, MVP, or Rookie of the Year (Mike Yastrzemski has been great, but Pete Alonso and Fernando Tatís Jr. have been so much better). The NL West has been locked up since Opening Day, so there isn’t even a good opportunity to play spoiler. I suppose if they sweep the Cardinals that could knock them out of a playoff spot, but even if you wanted to spite St.
