The San Francisco Giants swept the Athletics over the weekend. However, despite starting in one of those games, Justin Verlander is still searching for his first credited win of the season.
Verlander’s start was in Sunday’s game, in which he allowed two runs on three hits with one strikeout and five walks in four innings. After the game, he said that he was dealing with a physical issue, but left it fairly vague.
Per reporting by Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Giants manager Bob Melvin offered a little more information.
