Wednesday BP: J.P. Martinez named assistant pitching coach

Hello and happy Wednesday. There will be a new Community Prospect List to vote on this morning, so get in your final votes for the first one while you still can.

On Tuesday, the San Francisco Giants made a personnel move, as they announced that J.P. Martinez had been hired as assistant pitching coach. Martinez will take the spot of Ethan Katz, who left the position to join Tony La Russa’s staff on the Chicago White Sox.

Martinez is 38, and had been employed as the Minnesota Twins assistant pitching coordinator since 2018.
