Ok, so I grew up watching the Giants in the Joe Thomas era (oops, wrong team). Best thing we did was bring McCovey back and had a Disaster of a shortstop who had a sense of humor. I got used to bitching and whining, but was always hopeful that Rich Murray/Mike Ivey/Tom O’Malley/Tony Torcato was the answer. They never were, so, years (decades?) later, I still had my right to bitch and whine.
Now, we have 3 rings in 5 years. But our farm system sucks (gives me something to bitch and whine about). Then our 29th (Keith Law) or 27th (Baseball America) ranked farm system turns out a prospect not ranked in our top 20 who throws a no-hitter.
