The Carlos Correa free-agency saga is not willing to take Christmas Eve off. And the highly unlikely scenario of San Francisco Giants vindication is suddenly possible.
The Athletic reported Saturday morning that the New York Mets are concerned with the results of their physical examination of Correa after agreeing to a 12-year, $315 million deal, according to “people briefed on the matter who were not authorized to speak publicly.”
The New York Post’s Jon Heyman seconded the report, tweeting, “Parties are trying to work through it now.”
The potentially bombshell report comes just four days after the Giants postponed their news conference that was to announce their 13-year, $350 million contract with the superstar shortstop, due to concerns with their own physical of Correa.
