For a baseball fan, September can be at either end of the excitement spectrum. It can mean the ramping up of a potentially magical season, or the last fumes of a lost one. It can be an intense thrill ride, or a lifeless trudge devoid of any meaning. The Giants aren’t at either of those extremes, but they’re much closer to the latter than the former.

Planning for the playoffs
Watching your team breeze toward a playoff spot, in which the biggest concern (besides perhaps an ungodly collapse) is lining up the roster and rotation for the coming postseason.
