The trophy, formally known as The Bridge, was introduced in 2018 by NBC Bay Area and NBC Sports California. Fabricated from steel from the demolished eastern span of the Bay Bridge, it was envisioned to be a venerable, meaningful symbol to be awarded to the winner of the Bay Bridge interleague series between the Giants and A’s each season.
By virtue of their sweep of the A’s last weekend, the Giants copped the trophy.
