The San Francisco Giants alternate training site in Sacramento has increased in number. Last week the Giants designated catcher Rob Brantly for assignment, after the backup catcher had played only one game. It was a necessary move to make room for Chadwick Tromp, who was finally healthy and ready to join the active roster.
Brantly cleared waivers, and has been reassigned to Sacramento.

The Giants now have four catchers at the alternate training site: Brantly, Joey Bart, Patrick Bailey, and Chris Herrmann.
