I don’t know that it gets talked about often enough how iconic Renel Brooks-Moon is and how lucky we are to have her as the voice of the ballpark. If you grew up in the Bay Area in the late 1990s and early 2000s, as I did, Brooks-Moon has been a staple in almost the entirety of your life. We listened to her on the radio in the car with our parents, or in our school classrooms, in my case.
I would imagine that younger generations now associate her most with the ballpark. And since Mauricio Dubon looks approximately 13 years old, he falls into that category, posting the following on social media on Friday:
I told her “the one thing I was looking forward the most playing in San Francisco was listen to her say my name” @SFGiants @SFGigantes pic.
