It was a day of sadness in the Giants’ organization upon learning that Soannie Torres, wife of Andres Torres, died of cancer Wednesday evening. She was 37 and had been fighting the disease since February.
“We send our sincerest, deepest sympathies to Andres and his family,” Giants president Larry Baer said in a statement. “Soannie and Andres have meant so much to the Giants over the years, sharing their spirit for life with everyone in the organization, both on and off the field. We are going to miss Soannie dearly, and she will forever remain in our hearts.
