The San Francisco Giants used four pitchers to blank the Reds in Cincinnati tonight. Kevin Gausman was superb again, going six scoreless, and left after 94 pitches with the team clinging to a 1-0 lead. Zack Littell pitched a scoreless 7th and Jake McGee, in a bit of a switch, pitched a scoreless 8th. That left Tyler Rogers for the 9th, but the Giants spoiled the save by getting a massive two-out bases-clearing double from Buster Posey in the top of the frame to make it 4-0. Rogers put the first two runners on with a walk and ground ball, but retired the next three to spare us all heart attacks.
Shutout!
