The SF Giants transferred third baseman Evan Longoria to the 60-day injured list on Friday. The move opened up a 40-man roster spot for recently promoted reliever Jay Jackson. However, while the move gave the front office a little extra roster flexibility, it also insured Longoria cannot return to the active roster in July.
