SF Giants reportedly remove jersey patch of controversial sponsor

The San Francisco Giants have reportedly removed jersey patches for Cruise, the San Francisco driverless car company that had its permits to operate suspended last October. The news, which was first reported by the San Francisco Business Times, comes a day after the Giants began spring training. The team will now switch to Chevrolet, a different General Motors-owned car company, and wear a black patch with white trim and the Chevrolet lettering with “EV” in orange.

But Giants chief revenue officer Jason Pearl told the Business Times that the deal for the Chevy logo is only for this upcoming season and that the team “is open to Cruise returning for the 2025 season.
