Landen Roupp was placed on the injured list on Friday with right elbow infammation. The SF Giants are hopeful that the injury is not serious, and that he only misses a couple of starts.
Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that an MRI on Roupp's elbow came back clean. That is as encouraging an update as there can be given the nature of the injury.
Nevertheless, it is a tough blow to the starting rotation. Roupp, along with Robbie Ray and Logan Webb, helped solidify the front of the rotation. However, the back of the rotation, including Hayden Birdsong and Justin Verlander, had struggled quite a bit.
