The SF Giants added four prospects to the 40-man roster and designated three others for assignment.
MLB teams had until Friday at 3:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time, to protect prospects that had accrued the necessary service time from the Rule 5 draft, by adding them to their 40-man rosters. With 39 spots filled and several prospects eligible for protection, the SF Giants seemed likely to have to make some changes.
