On Jan. 18, San Francisco Giants Community Fund board member Christine Pelosi — daughter of House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi — spoke to the Sacramento Bee about a newly issued pledge given by Giants principal owner Charles B. Johnson. Pelosi had publicly threatened to quit the board if Johnson did not speak out about his donations to a dozen far-right politicians, as was first reported by SFGATE.
Johnson finally emerged, writing that he was seeking a refund from Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., and would do the same for "any other individual who [is] found to have engaged in similar behavior," referencing inflammatory language and actions in the lead-up to the Jan.
