SF Giants owner Charles B. Johnson doubles down on support for Herschel Walker, a 'Stop the Steal' enthusiast

According to FEC filings reviewed by SFGATE, San Francisco Giants principal owner Charles B. Johnson recently lodged by far his largest donation to a candidate who's openly espoused unfounded conspiracies about the 2020 presidential election.

The 89-year-old Johnson has broken his early 2021 "pledge" to steer clear of, and avoid donating to, "Stop the Steal" supporters a half-dozen times. His latest offense occurred in January of 2022, when he gave $100,000 to 34N22, a super PAC specifically intended to support Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker. As reported by SFGATE, Johnson previously maxed out a $5,800 direct donation to Walker's campaign — but this 34N22 donation far exceeds the $5,800 limit on candidate campaigns, since it's intended for a super PAC.
