SF Giants make wild comeback only to be foiled by Dodgers' Trayce Thompson, Mookie Betts

195-1 the last five years.

Those were the Dodgers' records with a five-run lead going into Thursday night. So when the best team in the National League jumped out of the All-Star break to a 5-0 lead in the third inning, the Giants seemed cooked.

Dodgers starter Mitch White was humming along, only allowing three baserunners in five innings. But despite the three days of rest for L.A.'s bullpen, things unraveled quickly. In just six batters in the seventh inning, the Giants wiped out the entire lead. Evan Longoria homered, and a single, walk and hit by pitch loaded the bases for Darin Ruf, who delivered the Giants' first game-tying grand slam in a quarter-century.
