With the season all but over for the SF Giants and the playoffs almost officially out of reach, they have turned the page to 2026 by inviting catcher Jesus Rodriguez to Oracle Park. He has a chance to be the team's backup catcher of the future.
The Giants acquired Rodriguez in a trade that sent Camilo Doval to the New York Yankees at the trade deadline. The 23-year-old has shown promise in the minor leagues so the hope is he could turn into something special with the Giants.

Now, Rodriguez is probably not going to play at all with the Giants in these final five games of the season because he was added to the team's taxi squad and not the active roster but that means he can still be around the team and get acclimated at the big league level.
