SF Giants add pitcher Ross Stripling as the backup plan is becoming clear

The San Francisco Giants have made their second free agent pickup at pitcher this week, bringing in righty Ross Stripling from the Toronto Blue Jays in a signing announced Tuesday. The deal is for two years and $25 million, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

This move comes just two days after the Giants brought on Sean Manaea from the San Diego Padres a two-year deal of his own. Neither Stripling's nor Manaea's contract details have been confirmed by the team.

Both pitchers are starters in their own right, but with four of the five starter spots filled ahead of the signings, one might end up falling into more of a relief role.
