Skenes was viewed as the frontrunner for the award, and received all 30 first-place votes. He pitched to a 1.97 ERA in 32 starts this season. Incredibly, Skenes has a 1.96 career ERA in two seasons with Pittsburgh.
Cristopher Sánchez of the Philadelphia Phillies finished in second place, receiving all 30 second-place votes.
