If you watched the San Francisco Giants take on the Chicago Cubs last Friday, you undoubtedly noticed something a little different with Brandon Belt’s jersey.
The self-proclaimed best hitter, best pitcher and fastest player on the Giants roster had a makeshift captain’s ‘C’ on his chest.
Apparently, Belt had jokingly called himself the team captain on the flight. Then Evan Longoria took some electrician’s tape to Belt’s jersey for the game.
After the 6-1 victory, Brandon Belt spoke to the media in a way only Brandon Belt can.
“You know, somebody has got to step up, and when you’re the alpha male on the team it’s got to be you,” Belt told NBC Sports.
