The Giants had high hopes when they acquired starter Mike Leake from Cincinnati on July 30, but he has only one win in seven starts with San Francisco.
Granted, he also hasn’t received much run support. But here are the numbers after Saturday’s 6-0 loss to Arizona: Leake is 1-4 with a 4.69 ERA since joining the Giants.
“I think I’ve done average, you could say,” he said. “Good starts, bad starts.”
Manager Bruce Bochy removed Leake after three innings Saturday. Bochy went to his bullpen partly to get his relievers some needed work and partly as a precaution because Leake had forearm tightness after his previous start.
