Sometimes you have to marvel at the cosmic absurdity of it all.
The Giants had the unique chance to add a franchise-changing player this winter, and came up short ... twice. Though the Aaron Judge and Carlos Correa situations were completely different, they both hurt. Judge would have sold tickets and made the Giants a must-watch event, and Correa would have made them a much better team overall.
The fact that they lost out on both — for varying reasons — is something that can turn even the biggest Giants fan into a hardened pessimist.
