The SF Giants missed a great opportunity to make up some ground in the NL Wild Card race over the weekend. They dropped two games against the Dodgers in which they had their aces lined up but they can still cause the New York Mets problems if they turn things around quickly.
New York finally snapped its eight-game losing streak on Sunday thanks to a walk-off home run from Pete Alonso. The Mets were playing so badly that it seemed like they were almost becoming a non-factor and that the Cincinnati Reds should be the team the Giants were worried about.
