Over the next few days, the movers and shakers of the baseball world will descend on San Diego, Calif. for the sport’s annual convention.
The Winter Meetings technically start on Sunday, but teams and agents expecting to conduct business typically wait until Monday to begin formal face-to-face meetings. The meetings haven’t produced many headlines of substance in recent years, but that could change this offseason as clubs have already begun pursuing (and in many cases signing) high-profile free agents.
Despite having several glaring roster needs and a decent amount of financial flexibility, the San Francisco Giants are not expected to generate a lot of noise at this year’s convention.
