MLB to compensate minor leaguers until April 8. Then what?

Baseball’s minor leaguers will be getting some financial relief. But the current plan is temporary.

Thursday afternoon, the MLB released a statement asserting that league will create an initiative to compensate minor league players uniformly between March 19 and April 8, the day before the originally scheduled start to the minor league season.

Error 0:

In any unhindered baseball season, minor league players don’t earn much. They’re paid only during the season. Salaries range from $400 per week (rookie and short-season leagues) to $15,000 per year (for triple-A teams). Minor leaguers must live off those in-season earnings during a wage-less offseason before baseball cycles back.
