MadBum, Crawford, Panik named All-Stars

Bumgarner, who did not participate in the game after his previous All-Star selections, would be an attractive choice as the starter for Giants manager Bruce Bochy, who just happens to be the NL skipper. Bochy might consider the assignment a fitting, final reward for Bumgarner following his record-setting postseason performance last October.

This year, Bumgarner is 8-5 with a 3.34 ERA and 114 strikeouts in 113 1/3 innings.

Should Bumgarner start or appear early in the game, he would throw to Buster Posey, his regular catcher who was named an All-Star starter Sunday.
