It has been over 20 years since the SF Giants had a Home Run Derby participant

It is well documented that the SF Giants have not had a hitter hit 30 home runs in a season since Barry Bonds. That is why it is no surprise the last Giant to compete in the Home Run Derby was the Home Run King back in 2004.

Bonds was not victorious in 2004 as Miguel Tejada ended up taking home the crown. Yet, there was still a hilarious moment at the beginning of the first round as the pitcher throwing to Barry threw him an intentional ball to start, a nice sign of respect given that teams would intentionally walk Barry all the time.
