How Giants’ Cueto fared in All-Star start (not well)

Is that any way to treat a guy who helped you win a World Series?

The American League took a 3-1 lead in the All-Star Game when Kansas City’s Eric Hosmer and Salvador Perez homered off Giants starter Johnny Cueto in the second inning, Perez with one aboard.

Hosmer and Perez were Cueto’s teammates on last year’s World Series champs.

Cueto should not feel bad. He merely continued a long tradition of Giants pitchers giving it up in the All-Star Game. There was:

Atlee Hammaker, who surrendered the first and still only grand slam in All-Star history (Fred Lynn).
