SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Insulated San Franciscans have little idea how deeply some East Bay folk detest the Giants, and it started long before anyone heard the term, "San Jose territorial rights."
If you grew up in A's territory, as Jimmy Rollins did in Alameda, you loved the green and gold and reviled the black and orange.
"I couldn't stand these colors growing up," Rollins said Wednesday after donning Giants gear for the first time. For Rollins and his pals, a trip to San Francisco versus an hour in a dentist chair was a coin flip.
