Giants rookie Tyler Beede exits final start of the season with injury

SAN FRANCISCO — Tyler Beede was enjoying a perfect start to his last outing of his rookie season.

An up-and-down season featured one last disappointment as Beede needed to leave Thursday’s game against the Rockies in the middle of the fourth inning.

Beede had thrown 3 1/3 innings against Colorado without allowing a baserunner, but he appeared to tweak his left side on a pitch that struck out Rockies first baseman Ryan McMahon.

Beede received attention from Giants trainer Dave Groeschner and manager Bruce Bochy on the mound before was removed from the game. The right-hander had thrown 53 pitches and racked up seven strikeouts before leaving with an undisclosed injury.
