In the last year and a half the San Francisco Giants have proven time and again that they’re not going to do things conventionally. And that is yet again on display.
More than 24 hours after having to submit their player pool ahead of the July 1 start to Spring Training 2.0, the Giants became the last MLB team to release their player pool. Interestingly, the Giants opted to fill just 51 of the 60 spots for now.
If you can’t see the tweet, here’s the breakdown of the 51 names. Asterisks are next to those who are not on the 40-man roster:
Trevor Cahill **
Tyler Cyr **
Rico Garcia **
Luis Madero **
Carlos Navas **
Trevor Oaks **
Andrew Triggs **
There aren’t any surprises in terms of who was added (Cristhian Adames is the closest thing to a surprise, I guess), but there were plenty in terms of who wasn’t.
