SAN FRANCISCO — It was the offensive breakthrough every player on the Giants’ roster and every member of the team’s fan base has been longing for.
It just happened to come when the club’s starting pitching fell apart.
The Giants finished a 3-3 road trip Thursday with a 12-11 loss to the Rockies at Coors Field just days after opening their journey away from Oracle Park with a 12-11 victory over the Reds at the Great American Ball Park.
Manager Bruce Bochy’s club erased three separate four-run deficits in six games, securing wins on Friday and Sunday in Cincinnati before overcoming a seven-run gap and falling to the Rockies on Thursday.
