SAN FRANCISCO — A day after needing to be removed from his start due to a finger issue, Giants starter Drew Smyly was placed on the 10-day injured list.
The club announced Smyly was diagnosed with a left index finger strain about 15 minutes prior to its series finale against the Texas Rangers.
Right-hander Andrew Triggs, who last pitched in the majors in 2018 with the Oakland A’s, will take Smyly’s roster spot and join the team in San Francisco on Sunday. To clear a 40-man roster spot for Triggs, . . .
