SAN DIEGO - Hunter Pence played his first rehab game for Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, and it was abbreviated.
Pence, who’s recovering from right hamstring surgery, exited in the third inning after hitting a single in Round Rock, Texas. He seemed to have grabbed his right leg before leaving the game, which created a stir on social media.
It apparently wasn’t as serious as fans feared. The Giants said they didn’t want to push him further, that he might have felt scar tissue after getting hit by a pitch in the area in the first inning.
