SAN FRANCISCO — Giants rookie Conner Menez turned in an impressive MLB debut on Sunday against the Mets that left fans wanting to see more of what the left-hander has to offer.
Giants fans will have to wait at least 10 days to see Menez again as the club announced Monday that Menez was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento to clear a roster spot for reliever Sam Coonrod.
Menez tossed five innings of two-run ball for the Giants on Sunday and pitched in front of family and several friends who made the short drive from his hometown of Hollister, Calif.
