SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants bullpen body swap continued prior to Tuesday’s game, with one mild surpise headed to Triple-A Sacramento.
In addition to placing right-hander George Kontos on the disabled list with a strained flexor tendon, the Giants also optioned right-hander Chris Heston to the River Cats. The club recalled right-hander Mike Broadway and left-hander Steven Okert from Sacramento.
Okert’s first appearance will be his major league debut.
Counting Sergio Romo, who is also on the DL with a flexor strain, the Giants bullpen is down three members from the group that opened the season.
